Learning & Development Consultant Job Opening with Hicks-Carter-Hicks, LLC

We seek to hire a full-time Learning & Development Consultant for our St. Louis location. This new position will report to the President and CEO.
Job Summary: The Learning & Development Consultant advises clients on strategies to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness. This role involves assessing, designing, and implementing solutions to improve employee skills, optimize structures, and improve overall performance. The Learning & Development Consultant will design and deliver impactful training programs using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies and collaborate with internal and external consultants on designing and/or delivering training programs for our company’s clients. Additionally, the position includes consulting with clients and assisting with implementation regarding organizational development tasks, such as refining structures, processes, systems, and cultures, leading change management initiatives, and promoting continuous improvement.
The Learning & Development Consultant is expected to stay current with industry trends and best practices, ensuring that the strategies recommended to clients are innovative, relevant, and effective.
Functions/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing client learning, development, and training needs
- Designing and developing a wide array of learning and development initiatives to meet client needs, such as training programs (in-person, online, and blended), organizational processes, etc.
- Facilitating engaging learning and development initiatives to produce desired outcomes
- Assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives
- Partnering with clients to plan, assess, manage, and execute organizational development and organizational change initiatives
- Providing consulting solutions and services related to the client’s needs
- Designing, developing, and administering surveys and assessments
- Analyzing both qualitative and quantitative survey/assessment data
- Leading internal and external projects
- Leading and facilitating meetings, employee groups, and leadership retreats
- Planning, preparing for, and conducting focus groups and interviews
- Developing communication materials for clients
- Delivering presentations to various audiences
- Assisting owner with business development initiatives, proposal development, and attending business development events
- Other related job duties
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human Resources (with an HR certification), or related field
- 5 years of professional experience in a consulting and training role (internal and/or external)
- Experience with training facilitation, instructional design, adult learning, conducting training needs assessments, and delivering training (facilitator-led, webinars, blended, etc.)
- Adult learning experience and the ability to design soft-skills training programs
- Strong consulting and influencing skills; ability to inspire support
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and nonverbal)
- Public speaking, presentation skills, and reading and managing audiences/group dynamics
- Assisting with and/or leading internal and external projects
- Familiar with project management and using standard tools, techniques, and processes to manage multiple projects for a variety of clients
- Ability to build relationships and trust with clients, as well as provide high-quality services
- Knowledge of systems, change management, organizational development, and leadership development theory
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic, and innovative
- A data mindset with a strong background and skills in statistical analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Solid understanding of technology and how to use it to enhance processes, operations, and service delivery
- Must be flexible and able to work in a deadline-driven environment and able to multi-task
- Must maintain confidentiality by protecting client and company information
- Able to travel up to 25% per month
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with assessments such as 360s, Everything DiSC®, Five Behaviors, TKI, StrengthsFinder, and other similar instruments
- Proficiency in R/RStudio
- Experience coaching using International Coaching Federation guidelines
- Experience assisting with business development initiatives
